The Grammy Award for Best New Classical Artist was an honor presented to classical artists at the 28th Grammy Awards in 1986. The Grammy Awards, an annual ceremony that was established in 1958 and originally called the Gramophone Awards, are presented by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States to "honor artistic achievement, technical proficiency and overall excellence in the recording industry, without regard to album sales or chart position".〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Overview )〕 The equivalent award known as Most Promising New Classical Recording Artist was first presented to André Watts at the 6th Grammy Awards in 1964. The honor was presented for additional years until being discontinued before the 1967 ceremony. The award category re-emerged in 1986 with the name Best New Classical Artist and was presented to Chicago Pro Musica. As of 2011, the award has not been presented since 1986. ==Recipients==
